The Aethir Edge network employs a dynamic emission schedule to reward participants for their contributions. The maximum allocation for Edge devices is 23% of the entire ATH token supply, which amounts to 9.66 billion tokens. These tokens are emitted as rewards over 10 years, with the emission rate decreasing each year. The first year has the highest allocation at 40%, followed by 24.12% in the second year, and so forth.
The emission schedule is not solely time-based; it's also influenced by the number of Edge devices connected to the network. As more devices join and actively participate, the emission amount increases, incentivizing broader network involvement. The relationship between the number of devices and the corresponding emission rate is detailed in Table 2 above.
Notably, the 40% allocation in the first year represents a maximum potential emission. The amount of ATH tokens released that year depends on the number of active Edge devices. If many devices are operational, the full 40% will be emitted. However, the emission will be proportionally lower if fewer devices are active.
